Character Information
Character Name: Loz (just “Loz,” no surname)
Character Series: The Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, specifically Advent Children Complete.
Character Age: Loz is technically somewhere between two years and one week old, but he has the physical appearance of a 25-year-old, and the emotional maturity of someone around the age of six or seven.
Character Gender: Male
Original Canon
Canon Point: Just before exploding everything atop the old ShinRa building in the ruins of Midgar.

The Remnants are fragments of Sephiroth given form, memories and force of will given living, breathing bodies for the express purpose of restoring Sephiroth to life. They were created at some point within the last two years, but most of those two years was strictly formulative, Sephiroth’s spirit and will going about designing and building the Remnants into what they are. Loz is the youngest of the three, as stated, and the least developed for reasons more or less unexplained.
In the handful of days during which Advent Children Complete took place, Loz and his brothers went on a mad search for their “Mother,” the remains of the alien supervirus Jenova, which gave Sephiroth the majority of his physical power. Along the way Loz himself personally captured and tortured the Turks Tseng and Elena, committed aggravated assault on Tifa Lockhart, kidnapped Marlene Wallace, stole a chest of materia belonging to Yuffie Kisaragi, assisted in turning several dozen children into Sephiroth-ish zombies, and had a nice little fight with Vincent Valentine that lasted all of about seven seconds.
When Kadaj finally succeeded in locating Jenova, the three Remnants fled the scene in a chase that went clear from Edge to Midgar; during this chase the Midgar Highway itself was destroyed by the Turks in an attempt to give Cloud a chance to escape from Loz and Yazoo and thereby take on the real threat, Kadaj.
Both the younger brothers survived this explosion, however, and managed to make their way all the way to the top of the old ShinRa building where Cloud defeated Kadaj once and for all. Here they both performed a suicide attack, overloading the materia they wore to cause a massive explosion, killing both of them and Cloud as well.
It’s from the instant before this explosion that Loz is being plucked from his world.
Personality: Loz is the third remnant of Sephiroth, the embodiment both of Sephiroth's physical strength as well as his affection and emotional instability toward Jenova and the world around him. And pretty much anything else the other two didn’t need, making him power, love, and castoff. This, I believe, is one of the reasons he’s so underdeveloped mentally and emotionally; he’s made of the pieces of Sephiroth’s mind that nobody gave a damn about, and it shows.
Physically the eldest of the three but mentally the youngest by far, Loz is extremely dependent on his older brothers for support and guidance, and thus doesn't tend to function well on his own. (At least to start; extended periods without his siblings actually allows Loz a great deal of character development, as it removes him from what's really a dangerous, even abusive environment for someone as young and impressionable as he is.)
Unlike his siblings, Loz is not violent for the sake of violence, he simply has no other idea how to keep himself entertained. With abilities so far above a human level, Loz has no appropriate outlet for his boundless, childish energy, and taking his mental and technical age into account, he also has next to no grasp on right and wrong—he has difficulty grasping that just because he can do something doesn’t mean he should do something, much like a very young child who’s just figuring out that their actions can make an impact on the world around them.
It should also be mentioned that Loz is extremely affectionate. Being the manifestation of Sephiroth’s positive emotions (or at least his ability to feel affection), he’s happier, more excitable, and can be almost social. He does, however, lack more or less all knowledge of how normal people function, due in part to his current mental state and his simple lack of education. This has led him to the belief that he’s insufferably stupid. Loz greatly dislikes this particular facet of himself, and does what he can to keep from showing it; if you point it out too much, you’ll probably make him cry. He does that a lot.
Basically, Loz is a giant attack puppy who hasn’t grown into his paws yet, but has all the training and skill of one that has. He’s affectionate and wants to learn things and know things and see people and make his family proud, but he’s a little too bumbling to manage it by himself. Yet.
Abilities: Like all those twisted by Jenova, Loz has superhuman senses and a very faint mental connection with others like him--he can sense other Remnants, Clones, and sufferers of Geostigma from a fair distance away with concentration. (However, he lacks the ability to sense the siren song of Reunion, meaning that while he can tell a Clone when he sees it, he can’t sense where Jenova herself is.) His magical ability is also off the charts, and he has the ability to junction Materia directly into his skin, without a bangle or other accessory as an energy buffer or focal point.
Power-wise, Loz is the embodiment of Sephiroth's physical strength, and as a result he is both impossibly strong and completely at ease with that inhuman strength. Ontop of that, Loz can perform something between teleportation and super-speed, which gives him the ability to move so fast it's almost impossible to see, leaving many to theorize he could come close to the speed of light. He’s only capable of this in bursts, but there’s almost no cooldown time between said bursts. My personal theory is that, given that Loz takes on the same blue aura when he warps as everyone else does when they use a Limit Break, this actually is his Limit Break, but as a Remnant of Sephiroth he apparently inherited the late General’s permanently full meter. This also means he builds up energy faster than most could ever burn it off, which results in him being very rather fidgety when he’s not “playing.”
Also, in less fantastic abilities, Loz's clothes are not in fact geniune leather, regardless of what they look like. They were actually generated from sheer force of will, and serve as an extension of his person. If his shirt is taken off, it will disintegrate into black mist and dissipate; when he wants it back, the same happens in reverse on his body, where the mist will solidify into his shirt again.
